The helpline is free for anyone with a health problem.
It is meant for patients based in India.
It does not provide medical advice.
It offers the option of having a phone, video call, chat online with a representative of AIMS2Health, or to
send a text message depending on your non-emergency healthcare need(s). You can call for advice if you or a
member of your family is unwell and you are unsure what to do, or you need general health information on a
particular condition. The helpline is not a:
diagnostic tool
substitute for professional health care
an alternative to seeing a doctor
In a medical emergency don’t call AIMS2Health. For a serious illness or injury that is critical and requires
urgent attention, please call for an ambulance or go to the emergency department of your local hospital. For
example, if you or the patient are experiencing any of the following:
central or crushing chest pain lasting more than 10 minutes
unconsciousness or a seizure (fit)
severe difficulty breathing or turning blue
severe bleeding or inability to control bleeding with pressure
sudden inability to move or speak, or sudden facial drooping
the effects of a severe accident.
When you call, a representative of AIMS2Health will ask you to answer questions so they can assess your
health problem and give you preliminary advice. The representatives of AIMS2Health will not diagnose your
illness or prescribe any medicine. They will direct you to the most appropriate level of care or may put you
in contact with an AIMS2Health doctor who can advise you on your next steps. The representative/doctor will
help you in solving the following main problems:
Whether the AIMS2Health portal is the right place for you
Whether your need to visit a hospital emergency room immediately
How to use the AIMS2Health portal
When to seek opinion of a single specialist or a board
Pricing of the services of AIMS2Health
Providing oral feedback or making an oral complaint about some aspect of AIMS2Health
Timings: 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on working days (Monday to Friday)
You can connect from your home, from work, or from wherever is most convenient, using your device —
smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
Unless you are merely collecting some basic information about the telemedicine services of AIMS2Health this
preliminary consultation cannot be anonymous. If you are talking to a doctor, then both sides need to know
each other’s identity. The AIMS2Health doctor will verify and confirm the patient’s identity by asking for her
or his name, age (proof of age), address, email ID, mobile phone number, registered ID or any other form of
identification, as may be needed.
Prepare for the conversation. This is especially vital when the visit is via phone or video chat.
Call from a quiet place
Internet connection—whenever possible, use wired ethernet/broadband instead of Wi-Fi/4G as it provides a
more consistent connection; wireless/mobile connection is more likely to get lag and interference which can
make video and audio suboptimal.
Internet speed—connection should be at least 1 Mbps speed or have strong reception on a 4G mobile network.
Requirements are driven by the resolution and image motion. Higher speed will enable a better experience.
Prior testing may be necessary to determine the feasibility of video consultations.
Settings—computer, phone, or tablet may require configuration of privacy and other settings for video
consultations.
